OUR FOUNDER

MONA LUXTON

Counsellor/psychotherapist

Mona has worked as a professional counsellor and psychotherapist with a particular focus toward women's issues since 2002.

"I have been working as a counsellor/therapist for 15 years and my greatest passion is helping women overcome life challenging issues. Women that have experienced abuse such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, self-harm and mental health issues. Many of them stripped of their dignity, self-worth, left isolated and feeling helpless. left without hope, or a reason to live.  two of these precious girls that I came to know became so overwhelmed believing they had no way out, that they took their own lives. It has been my lifelong dream to offer a residential program aimed toward helping women find healing, restoration, and renewed hope for the future. A program not only focussed on rehabilitation, but a holistic support program that would bring transformation through healing and a rebuilding of their identity, value and self-determination."

Mona has been awarded the local Woman of the Year, Southern District Volunteer of the Year in 2014 and Bayside council's Citizen of the year award 2018 for her contribution to the prevention of  Violence against women.
